In San Ramon, Optic Window Co. charges $12 per window for outside cleaning and $18.50 per window for inside and outside, plus $5 per screen. A 20 window home cleaned inside and out is about $370. National cost guides put a standard window at roughly $7 to $20, and plans with Optic take 10 to 25 percent off every visit.
What sets the price
Window cleaning is priced by the window because every house is different. The things that move the price are:
- Number of windows and glass doors
- Inside and outside, or outside only
- Screens and tracks
- Hard water spots, which take a separate treatment
- Skylights, very large picture windows and unusual glass

How to pay less
The biggest savings come from a plan. Twice a year takes 10 percent off every visit, Quarterly takes 20 percent off and cleans screens free, and Monthly takes 25 percent off. Referring a neighbor takes $25 off for both of you.
